After many successful years of hosting transformative surf trips, London Girls Surf Club is entering an exciting new chapter with Ellen stepping in as the New Director. Building on the strong foundations and inspiring legacy created by founder Kylie Griffiths, Ellen brings a wealth of experience and fresh perspective to LGSC. With extensive expertise in the surf manufacturing industry, brand licensing, and surf travel, Ellen has honed her skills through years of hosting for brands and surfers of all levels. Her vision blends progressive growth with the grounding, community-focused ethos at the heart of LGSC. This marks an exhilarating time for the club as it continues to offer empowering, unforgettable surf experiences for women from all walks of life.

London Girls Surf Club was founded in 2017 by Kylie Griffiths with one clear mission: to get landlocked ladies into the ocean and onto the waves. After discovering her passion for surfing in her late twenties, Kylie wanted to create a supportive, inclusive space where women could experience the magic of the sea together. From beginners testing the waters to experienced surfers seeking a community to grow with, LGSC offers a place for women to connect, learn, and form lifelong friendships through a shared love of surfing.

We understand that stepping into the ocean for the first time can feel intimidating, which is why we’ve created a relaxed, welcoming environment for women to try surfing at their own pace. Whether it’s your first time catching waves or your hundredth, we’re here to provide encouragement, camaraderie, and plenty of fun along the way.

Our mission is to get city girls away from the concrete jungle, into the waves, and closer to the boundless possibilities that the sea represents—whether it's through water sports, physical connection, or simply the joy of ocean exploration.

City life is fast-paced and often overwhelming, leaving little room to pause and recharge. Our surf trips and community events offer a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle, giving women the opportunity to unwind and reconnect with nature. The ocean has a unique power to ground us—whether it’s the tranquility of the water or the thrill of riding a wave, surfing allows you to live fully in the moment.

  • Absolutely! We love solo traveler’s, or groups of friends! Our ethos is to create an inclusive and connective space where everyone feels welcome. While we may start as strangers, we always leave as friends. Connecting people with each other and the environment is at the heart of everything we do. Our trips are designed to offer intimate experiences where you can dive in as much or as little as you like—whether you’re looking for connection or quiet reflection, there’s a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

  • Absolutely yes! Our name just materialised from some land-locked city surfers who wanted to gain more from the ocean lifestyle. London just happens to be where we are from! We welcome anyone from anywhere in the world! The ethos is still the same!

  • Absolutely, our whole team is made up of some amazing water women! When you are in your surf lessons of course, you will be getting all the advice needed. However, even out of the water feel free to sit with one of our hosts and pick their brains on anything you may want advice on! We are here to give you the best start in your surfing journey!

  • Everything you need for an epic trip except the flights! We cover most of the important bits so you get the most relaxing stay with us! We include in all our packages:

    • Airport Transfers,

  • A LOT! Our main focus is on surfing and connecting as a crew! We surf daily, lessons will be on daily and if you still have the energy then there is lots of time to get in the water and free surf! Equipment will be full access on all trips and the beach will be in walking distance for all our European destinations.

  • We are not here to judge your ability, we are here to make sure you have the trip of a lifetime! Before the trip, we’ll ask you to fill out a quick form to help us understand where you're at with your surfing. Whether you're brand new to the ocean or have decades of experience, we’ll make sure you're placed in a group with women who share similar skills. We range from complete beginners to leading surfers in the Industry. No worries about being held back or feeling any pressure—we're all about fun, no-stress vibes. If there’s something specific you’d like to work on or learn, we’ll make sure to cover it during our trip and lessons, so you feel supported every step of the way!

  • We’ve got you covered with everything you need to hit the waves! Our wide range of equipment includes Zedsleds demo boards for all levels, trusty foamies for added stability, and wetsuits available in sizes 4 to 22 to keep you comfortable and confident. We’ll ask for your sizes at booking to ensure the perfect fit, so there’s no need to worry—we’ll handle the details.
